Book Studio Release: Write long-format stories, share them online

What's the Book Studio?

The URSRP Book Studio is a paid service feature, but once any user subscribes once (even if it's only for 1 month) they retain access to the Book Studio for the life of the service.

In the Book Studio editor, Authors will find a plethora of tools for writing. It all starts with creating your first book.

Once you're in the editor for the Book Studio, you'll see a whole host of rich options to keep your sanity as an author. Here's an example of the editor (using dark mode)

Publishing Books on URSRP

Publishing your work on the site is easy once your work is ready. Published works go through a moderation filter and a human looks it over. If your submission passes (we don't allow certain illegal topics for the public publishing route) then you'll find it on the main Books 'Shelf' page.

Publishing a book on URSRP isn't a source of income, we're not a publishing site, you are in full control if you want to remove your book from the public publishing flow.

That's why books can be:

• Private (No one can read),

• Private with link (Anyone with the link can read),

• or Published Public (Anyone can read).

Endorsement System

Users who do publish books will find that every book has an 'Endorse' button. That's a fast and easy way for users to 'vote' for their favorite titles.

The endorsement system expands to other places on our site as well, like publicly displayed characters.

Reading Books On URSRP

The reading experience for Books on the Shelf is very immersive for both Mobile users and Desktop users.

Books are divided into chapters and have estimated 'time to read'. There's also links to the authors and other information.

Don't like all the noise while reading? You can collapse the sidebars to get rid of distractions.

Books on Mobile

Our mobile interface is focused on the writing. Minimal distractions! The 'Friends and Dice' tabs also go away on mobile when a user accesses the page from a mobile device.

BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS!

We advocate people writing books. This system will get better as we grow. And as we identify user experience needs (and interface upgrades) we will continue upgrading the Books Studio and Public Books areas.

Writers: You control your data. Importing and Exporting your books will become an option (and by the time you read this, it probably already is an option).
