Irena was born to a kitsune family who owed a great debt and were not associated with any of the kitsune clans. To settle their debts, they sold Irena off as a child, handing over her true name and bell to her new masters.
The gang that purchased her operate a brothel, and specialize in training assassin courtesans for their high end clients. As a kitsune, Irena was a rare flower that they anticipated making a small fortune off of. She was trained in the arts of seduction, and her illusion magic was only exercised in ways to perfect her own appearance in order to help create the perfect illusions for her client’s desires and adjust any imperfections that they may dislike.
She escaped after seducing one of the guards, slitting his throat after months of convincing him to steal her bell and bring it back to her. She escaped to the coast, sneaking onto a boat and has been traveling the world since.
